Tell that to the bounce agency who won a district high 5 National ADDY® Awards at the AAF National Award Ceremony in Washington, D.C. this past weekend. To put that accomplishment into perspective, those 5 National ADDYS are the most ever given in one year to any South Carolina agency during the competition's nearly 50 years in existence.

"We are thrilled that the work we're doing for our clients is garnering national and international attention as well as producing impressive results during these difficult times," said Carlos Jimenez, CEO of the bounce agency.

4 Gold ADDYs went to the "Time To Thaw" campaign for the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism while 1 Silver ADDY went to a television commercial produced for the Greenville Literacy Association.

"Our work was judged superior to work from the country's largest and best-known agencies." said John McDermott, President and Creative Director at the bounce agency. "That fact, along with our setting the South Carolina record, makes a strong statement about the caliber of the advertising we're creating."

The "Time To Thaw" campaign experienced similar success as it advanced through each tier of the ADDY award competition winning a Best of Show award at both the local and district levels.

"We're in the business of ideas, so when ours are determined to be some of the most innovative and most successful at generating results for our clients, we're excited about that," said Stephen Childress, Associate Creative Director on both winning campaigns.

Talk about results. The Time To Thaw campaign received 1.2 million hits on the travel deals page of the TimeToThaw.com microsite in just one month last February while increasing the already substantial traffic to the main website by a startling average of 25%.

"All in all, you couldn't ask for a campaign to do any better in terms of the results it has achieved for our client. The new record and the awards are just icing on the cake," said Childress.

In addition to garnering a record number of ADDYs, the "Time To Thaw" campaign recently earned international recognition by winning the Google Wisdom of the Crowd Award at the travel and tourism industry's largest awards show, The HSMAI Adrian Awards. The Google Award was given to the world's best campaign as voted on by a panel of industry professionals and a poll of consumers from across the country.

The ADDY® Awards represent the true spirit of creative excellence by recognizing all forms of advertising from media of all types, creative by all sizes and entrants of all levels from anywhere in the world.

<a10:updated>2009-06-10T08:00:00-04:00</a10:updated>

3M corporation recognizes bounce for creative innovation and excellence

Greenville's the bounce agency has received another national accolade for its work on behalf of the Greenville Literacy Association. This time, the agency's breakthough work was recognized by global giant 3M.

More than a year ago, 3M began marketing a unique vinyl material capable of being custom printed and then installed over virtually any rough wall or textured surface.

The competition, which was judged by representatives from 3M as well as the Society for Environmental Graphic Design and the Small Business Administration, evaluated installations of this new material based upon aesthetic appeal, use of space, professionalism of the installation and impact of the wrap on the end user. The award recognized both bounce and Greenville's TPM, who printed and installed the work.

"It's really rewarding to get this kind of recognition," said John McDermott, President and Creative Director at bounce. "Over the past couple of years, we've been able to get very creative in our work with GLA. This material from 3M opened up another door for us, and our creative team walked right through it."

Hundreds of entries were received, and 25 finalists were selected. bounce's winning entry was a unique "fountain wrap" installed at Falls River Park, and encouraged people to participate in GLA's primary annual fundraiser, Really Good, Really Big, Really Cheap Book Sale. As part of the award, GLA will receive a check for $2,000 from 3M.

"This is pretty cool, having 3M rate our work the best in the country," said bounce Associate Creative Director Stephen Childress. "But even better, the $2,000 contribution adds to the $116,000 the book sale raised. That means GLA will be able to reach a little further and change even more lives right here in our community."

The award was presented to bounce by representative of 3M and TPM.

<a10:updated>2009-05-14T08:00:00-04:00</a10:updated>

bounce wins battle for South Carolina Parks, Recreation & Tourism account

The South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism has awarded a five-year contract for advertising and marketing services to the bounce agency.

The Greenville company will be responsible for continuing to develop the state's tourism brand and executing an advertising campaign that includes diversified buys in online and offline media.

"PRT's review process is extremely rigorous," said bounce President and Creative Director John McDermott. "We're honored to have been awarded the contract and given the opportunity to continue to serve."

The contract takes effect at the beginning of the new fiscal year, July 1, and its ultimate value will be determined by the budget allocated each year to PRT by the General Assembly. The state agency will spend $5.1 million in paid media in the 2009 calendar year.

"Tourism is South Carolina's largest export, generating $16.7 billion in total economic demand and providing more than 10 percent of the state's total employment," said SCPRT Director Chad Prosser, who led contract negotiations expected to save $500,000 to $650,000 annually over the life of the contract.

"We're pleased to renew our long relationship with the bounce agency in helping us continue to move forward in this industry, one that is such a key component of quality of life in South Carolina," he said.

<a10:updated>2009-04-17T08:00:00-04:00</a10:updated>

bounce flies high at aaf third district addy awards

When the points were tallied and the judges deliberations completed at the recent 3rd District ADDY Awards in Greensboro, North Carolina, it was Greenville, South Carolina's the bounce agency that came away with the lion's share of the awards.

A total of 17 District ADDYs – 10 Gold, 6 Silver and a Best of Show – were added to the already bursting trophy case at bounce.

"We're thrilled to have so much of our work recognized at the District level," said John McDermott, President and Creative Director at bounce. "It's a tribute to the team at bounce, and to the clients who entrust their brands to us and empower us to do work that makes those brands stand out and be noticed."

The agency was recognized at February's AAF Greenville's ADDY® Awards with a total of 31 awards, including two Judges Awards and the Best of Show. Gold and Silver winners at the local level are eligible for entry in the District ADDYs. Similarly, work awarded at the District level is eligible to move on to the National competition. That means bounce will be well represented at the National competition to be held in Washington, D.C. on May 8 and 9. Work for several clients earned recognition at the district competition. South Carolina Parks, Recreation & Tourism, Greenville's own Thomas Creek Brewery and the Greenville Literacy Association.

"The work that was done for SCPRT – a campaign called "Time To Thaw" that ran in the dead of winter in downtown Chicago – has really captured the attention of the judges in several creative awards competitions." said Associate Creative Director Stephen Childress. "Most important, the campaign generated tremendous results for our client. The awards are a nice pat on the back, but getting results is our job." A total of 26 professional awards were handed out to Greenville ad agencies, with bounce garnering 17 of those including the Best of Show Out of Home. And bounce is no stranger to the National ADDY Awards competition. Just last year, the agency received four National ADDYs for creative excellence; the most ever awarded to one South Carolina agency in a single year.

From a pool of 15,000 entries, the judges narrowed down the entries to their favorite three, then those campaigns were reviewed by consumers across the country. The campaign that was deemed the favorite in this nationwide poll was declared the winner of the 2008 Google Wisdom of the Crowd Award.

"It's truly an honor to win an award like this that's judged not only by a panel of industry peers, but also by the people that matter the most in advertising, the consumer," said John McDermott President and Creative Director of bounce.

The "Time To Thaw" campaign was a two-month awareness effort executed in the winter of 2008 in downtown Chicago. The campaign featured numerous guerilla executions and installations that reminded frosty Chicagoans that South Carolina is a great place to thaw out in the winter. The TimeToThaw.com microsite received 1.2 million hits on its Hot Deals page alone on its way to creating a 24% increase in traffic to the South Carolina main site during similar periods in previous years.

<a10:updated>2009-02-03T07:00:00-05:00</a10:updated>

bounce work featured in communication arts advertising annual

bounce's "Have Any Books Lying Around?" campaign created for the Greenville Literacy Association was featured in the Communication Arts Annual Advertising Awards publication honoring the world's best campaigns for 2008. This amazing accomplishment makes bounce the first agency from South Carolina to have their work featured in this prestigious creative publication.

"Having our work featured alongside the best agencies in the world is a true testament to the caliber of the ideas that we're generating for our clients right here in Greenville," said Stephen Childress, Associate Creative Director at bounce.

The Greenville Literacy Association's "Have Any Books Lying Around?" campaign features unique guerilla installations, including a stairwell wrapped to look like a giant stack of books, tiny PostIt note packets fitted with custom book jackets and the side of a parking garage wrapped to look like a giant bookshelf. The campaign helped the Greenville Literacy Association generate over 100,000 book donations and over $100,000 in revenue making it the largest one-day used book sale in the nation.

The "Have Any Books Lying Around?" campaign was also featured in the Communication Arts Exhibit Issue in September 2008.

"This is great news for us, and for South Carolina's entire ad community," says bounce President and Creative Director John McDermott. "At this level of competition, you're up against the very best work from the very best agencies in the country. To earn four awards, including three Golds? That's a strong performance by anyone's standards."

bounce won a Gold ADDY for a campaign titled "Campaign to Sink the Status Quo," which it created for Thomas Creek Brewery. The agency also won two Gold ADDYs and a Silver ADDY for the "Have Any Books Lying Around?" campaign produced last year for the Greenville Literacy Association's Really Good, Really Big, Really Cheap Book Sale. Never before has an agency from South Carolina received more than one national Gold ADDY in a given year, nor as many total ADDYs.

More than 60,000 entries were submitted to the national ADDY Awards this year. The AAF is divided into 15 districts around the country and South Carolina is in the Third District. Among Third District national ADDY winners, bounce was the only agency to win Gold. Gary Gilmore, AAF Third District Governor, said, "This is an impressive achievement. The ADDYs are the largest creative competition in the country and one of the toughest in the advertising industry. As a highly deserving winner of four awards, and the only Gold award winner in Third District, the bounce agency has added a new level of credibility to our AAF district and to the Greenville advertising community." The winning work was:

"Campaign to Sink the Status Quo" Thomas Creek Brewery Gold ADDY Award

Post-It Note Book Jackets Greenville Literacy Association Gold ADDY Award

The "Have Any Books Lying Around?" campaign also achieved outstanding results at two other prestigious, global advertising competitions recently. It won a Silver World Medal at the New York Festivals and was a semi-finalist at The One Show.

Agencies from around the world compete in both of these competitions, and judging is performed by some of the most influential creative directors in the advertising industry.

bounce Chairman and CEO Carlos Jimenez said, "Several years ago we set out on a mission to consistently produce the kind of great creative that would make us one of the very best agencies in the Southeast. These awards prove what I've always known … that we're capable of competing against the very best agencies in the country."

The AAF will present the awards at its annual awards ceremony in Atlanta on June 10, and it is possible that bounce could receive a Best of Show award for its winning entries.

Canopy Bluff will consist of a fully-amenitized 300-room hotel and 127 two-, three-, and four-bedroom condominiums with restaurants, bars, pools, fitness center and other amenities. All facilities will be LEED Certified. The LEED Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high- performance green buildings.

The iconic logo features the primary elements of Jekyll Island: ocean, sand and natural vegetation. A lone Live Oak tree, which actually sits on the Canopy Bluff property, is the mark's signature image and is a nod to the partnership that Canopy Bluff has with the Jekyll Island Authority to ensure responsible stewardship of the development's habitat, promoting preservation of Live Oaks and other indigenous vegetation that call this property home.

The website (www.canopybluff.com), which features the Canopy Bluff logo, launched in early December. During the initial construction phase of Canopy Bluff, the website allows visitors to familiarize themselves with the development and to register for more information. More details will be added to the site as construction progresses.

The Bounce Agency learned of the honor at the recent annual meeting of the Carolinas Healthcare PR and Marketing Society (CHPRMS), which is affiliated with the American Hospital Association's Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development. The Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development is the largest and most influential organization of its type among hospitals and other healthcare organizations in the United States.
Called "The Wallie Awards," CHPRMS hosts the annual competition as a way to recognize excellence in healthcare public relations and marketing. Members compete in more than a dozen categories and winners are chosen by a panel of healthcare professionals. "Best in Show" is awarded to the single entry that surpasses all other entries throughout the competition, regardless of category. "Gold" is the top honor given to entries within each category.

The Best in Show won by bounce, was for a television campaign called "Everyday Experts." The TV campaign consists of one 30-second spot for AnMed Health Heart and Vascular Care and one 30-second spot for AnMed Health Cancer Care. The TV campaign ran in April 2007 on local cable networks throughout the AnMed Health service area.
